FAQs
1) How often should I inspect my roof(s)? What are the signs of a failing roof system?
Answer: You should inspect your roof at least twice a year. If your roof has been in an area where the sustained winds have exceeded 90 mph, or if you see an increase in the frequency and number of leaks, or an increase in the severity of leaks, or your roof has visible blisters or crack, it is time for a professional inspection of the system.
2) What are the benefits of a new roof system? Answer: You avoid the damage and deterioration to the entire building that can be caused by an old leaky system. For commercial facilities, you avoid the loss of production time and the disruption of day to day activities caused by a leaking roof. Additionally, you get a better insulation "R" value that saves on heating and cooling expense (with a leaky roof, the wet insulation has a lower insulation "R" value which creates higher heating and cooling bills).
3) What kind of warranty can I expect? Answer: Each roofing system typically has various available warranties. These can range from 5, 10, 15 to 20 year warranties. Always analyze the warranty and ask if the warranty is prorated and/or has a certain dollar limit.
4) What is the best roofing system for me? Answer: Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to this question. It depends on your budget, the pitch and style of the current roof, the age of the building and a myriad of other factors. Whether you call us or another roofing professional, you should be given several choices specifically tailored to your situation. A good contractor will explain the options and let you decide what system to install.
